Ms. Leslie Wurzberger recently accepted a position as the Associate Director of Trademarks and Licensing at the University of Washington.
A versatile administrator with 17 years of athletic management experience, Ms. Wurzberger served the previous 12 years managing the marketing and revenue generation efforts for the University’s athletic program. A member of the senior staff, Ms. Wurzberger worked closely with the department’s external areas including athletic communications and development, and was involved in strategic planning. In addition, she managed the department’s relationship with its multi-media rights holders, encompassing corporate sponsorships, radio and television rights, website e-commerce and other related items. She also served on the University’s Reputation Building Task Force which ultimately led to the formation of the central campus marketing unit.
Ms. Wurzberger graduated from Washington in 1990 with bachelor’s degrees in speech communication and business administration. As a student, she served as chairman of the Washington Student Athletic Board and worked for two years as a student assistant in the media relations office. She received her master’s of science degree in sport management in 1992 from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where she worked as a graduate assistant in sports information. Ms. Wurzberger also interned for one year in the NCAA's public affairs office before returning to UW.
Wurzberger is a former president of the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators.
