NACDA Consulting and Minot State Develop Partnership

Minot State to utilize consulting firm for athletics strategic plan for Division II transition

MINOT, N.D. (November 9, 2009) - The Minot State University Department of Athletics has retained NACDA Consulting to assist with a strategic plan as part of its move to Division II.

The scope of the project will include NACDA Consulting providing and implementing a comprehensive strategic plan for MSU athletics with a focus on development and implementation of an external revenue strategic plan. NACDA Consulting’s process involves gathering background data, reviewing materials and conducting on-campus interviews with key stakeholders, as well as collecting peer benchmarking and best practices data.

The assessment will include a wide range of components, including fundraising, alumni relations, communications, prospect development, leadership, volunteers, metric, integration, and benchmarking.

“We are excited about our partnership with NACDA Consulting,” said Rick Hedberg, Athletic Director of MSU. “As we begin our membership in Division II, it will be vital for us to develop a comprehensive plan in order to ensure our success. NACDA Consulting has extensive experience with DII schools and will be able to help us tremendously in this area.”

Minot State began the three-year process of becoming a full Division II member on July 10. Currently, MSU is in the candidacy stage of NCAA membership.

NACDA Consulting, a division of Strategic Marketing Affiliates (SMA) in alliance with the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), has partnerships with several institutions on similar projects including the University of California Riverside and the University of North Alabama.
